I had a similar problem one time. I was using the HD pump and the shocks would not accept air. Turned out that one of the little red or orange valves that the tubes attache to was defective.

King, no need to waste money on the HD pump at $40 as you can go to Performance Bicyle and buy any one of 3 bicycle shock pumps which are virtually identical to the HD model. In fact right now they have a good model on sale for $19.99 http://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=5423

i did it with a 7.99 tire pump! I had to take the 1/2 nut off to get the valve long enougn for the pump. I had to hook it 3 times checking the pressure in between but it worked. They are correct when they say it does not take much air. I think I put in 3 half pumps for 20lbs. I guess you can say I am a cheap SOB if you want. Sure does make the ride better with 20lbs of air in the shock. I have to admit that the wife thing was funny, it is alittle tight. I think that I will invest in the 40.00 pump for my Christmas Present. Thanks for all the input!
