Huh, I live on a dirt road so I wash my bike....a lot! I spray water from a hose on everything including my inner fairing. Obviously, I don't hold the stream full force on the speakers and gauges, but I do spray as I would any other part of the bike. I've never had any trouble with the speakers or gauges. At least not yet?

I learned to use a damp microfiber cloth made from 70 % polyester and 30% polyamide. This type of cloth is used by local body shops and removes dust without scratching the paint so we don't need to use polish to recover the gloss. For insects I spray a bit of water with an empty "Windex" dispenser and rub gently. There is no need for soap or detergent of any kind.

It's ok to get a Harley wet, hell you can even ride them in the rain!

I put plastic bags on the handlebar controls and don't get the inner fairing wet.

If you don't ride in the rain in Northern Vermont, you may have a chance of getting ohhh 200 miles on your bike in the summer!

"why take a chance"
"plastic bags on the handlebar controls"
What do you fellas do when it rains?
You can ride these bikes all day in the rain, heavy rain if you're up for it. The water won't hurt it. It's a motorcycle!
