Default Chrome hand lever recommendations?

Just got my new Sweeper +2 handlebars, waiting on my clutch cable to arrive, and then going to swap out bars. Figured this would be a good time to swap out the OEM hand levers for some chrome ones.

Prices range from $30 - $200+ for chrome hand levers. I see that Custom Chrome, Eastern Performance, and Drag Specialties are a lot cheaper than the $130+ set from HD. Anybody have any good things to say about a brand other than HD, especially on the cheaper side? Just don't want to pick up a set that is junk, with the chrome flaking or changing color after a couple of years. They'll be for my '08 Ultra.

All these views, and nobody has used something besides the HD brand for their chrome hand levers?

I have the HD ones. No complaints. They are nice looking and comfortable. I only went with the HD ones as I bought the master cylinder and clutch bracket from there too.

I like the Kury Boss Blades as they have a shorter reach and better curve and haven't had any chrome issues. Not that fancy but functional.

I used Custom Chrome's kit back in 2005 and changed out the OEM handlebar controls (levers, m/c, clutch perch, etc.) to their chrome kit purchased from EPC for about $120 IIRC and they were perfect. I swapped out everything with chrome parts compatible with the Brembo stuff (i.e. 2008 and newer) and used Kury's levers and had the OEM parts I'd purchased chrome plated.

The Kury levers have only been on the bike for a year so no long term report, but they look fine.

It was after 70+ looked, but curious didn't get any replies. Thanks for caring so much though.

I appreciate the feedback though from you though, and everybody else. Helps me decide what to go with.

I have the Drag Specialties on my Ultra. They have been on for over a year now and no complaints. They look as good as the day they were installed.

I had the Kury Boss Blades on my last bike, didnt care for the quality of the fitment. The clutch side rattled so loud you could hear it at idle, and yes, that was with the proper anti rattle clip installed. Tossed them for the HD branded ones and problem solved. That was on a 09 with ABS. Since you are putting them on an 08, you may not experiance the same thing since that will be the older controls and clutch basket.

I have the Kuryakyn Trigger Levers on mine. I also had them on a previous bike. They look good and give you a little more leverage.

Drag Specialties = SUCK!!!

I put them on the first week of June and the chrome is already flaking off...

I contacted the e*Bay Seller (EasternPerformance) in hopes of getting a replacement...

We Will See What Happens...
