Back in '07 I did a Big Sucker, Rush w/2" baffles, & a V&H Fuel Pak. Saw no reduction in heat because at idle the FP does not affect AFR (this from V&H Tech Support.) Bike developed an unpredictable stumble off-idle (which is great for catching Buicks with your rear bumper) and also had pinging between 2800-3500 rpm under heavy acceleration and when at highway speeds on anything other than flat ground in warm weather. V&H was never able to tune out the stumble or the ping, and since I also never saw any kind of heat reduction from the FP or performance gains from the loud mufflers & air cleaner, I sold the FP and Big Sucker to a friend, put 1.5" baffles in the Rush slipons (no more ringing ears on long trips & can hear the stereo better) and bought a set of IED's. They worked pretty well at reducing heat, the stumble was gone, and pinging was reduced. Then when XIED's came out I got those and couldn't be happier. They richen the AFR at idle, which helps tremendously with heat in traffic (where it's most noticeable) and there was no tuning involved. Ping is gone completely now, haven't had the stumble since I got rid of the FP, mileage only dropped 1 mpg, and the price can't be beat.

For those just wanting to reduce heat and don't care for engine mods, XIED's are really hard to beat.
That's me.

I'm going to keep this part number for when I need a air filter. K&N's are sweet....easy to clean with dishwashing soap, let dry and re-oil.

FWIW, I just scored a set of painted lower fairings with vents for $529 shipped from Lake Shore!

I now have everything I wanted. Now it's time to ride her into the ground!

I currently have the new Cobra PowrPro on order through my dealer. Stopped in today and said it is on back order until end of April. He GAVE me a set of the FL-xied-10's to put on my ride till other unit comes in.
I have just installed the V&H Power Duals with Hi-Output Muffs and SE stage 1 AC. I installed the xied unit in all of about ten min. started bike and let warm up a little before taking it out but noticed the header pipe starting to glow a little orange. I shut her down. is this normal with these headers or is she running to lean.... Nightriders web site suggests using with muff upgrade and ac upgrade but no mention of header pipe. i'm i good to go for a ride....

That's a sharp SG you have Joe. I started to wait for the 2011's and get the Sedona orange RK, But I was offered an outstanding Deal on the 10 I bought. Just wanted to let you know, I'm doing the 15K Service on my wife's 2010 SG Trike. She has the 103 engine. I put the XIED'S on her bike when she bought it last may. At the same time I installed a set of FuelMoto Dyna Tuned Jackpot Muffler's. Along with a Arlen Ness Big Sucker A/F
I replaced her spark Plugs today. The ones I took out were burning perfect. A off white to tan color with no deposit's. I'm very pleased with what I see out of the XIED'S. She still has the Cat in the head pipe. Here's a pic of her bike. Ride safe!!!

This is tough to answer in that you have the Power Dual header with high output muffler's. I was thinking of going to a D&D Fatcat or V&H pro pipe on my RK last fall. After talking with Steve Mullen at Niterider, I decided to go with a 2into1 catless stock header and Fuelmoto's Powertube Muffler. Steve said I might be pushing it a bit with the Tuned Header pipe. Ride the bike and see how it runs. It will let you know right away if it's running too lean. After you get back, check your plugs to see how they are burning. Compare them to the chart in the service manual. you might need a Tuner!

Should be interesting, huh?

Of course, I will post, so we can talk it over and marvel at how well my scooter runs!

I would be really interested to hear what the dyno says the Xieds are doing to the A/F ratio. Please let us know.

I just ordered me a set.

Got to ride for the first time on a warm day the other day and the heat was insane off the head pipe. So we will see how these do.

I just put a set of the fl-xied-10s on my 2010 ultra last night. Took a short ride today and seem to be seeing all the improvements that everyone has mentioned here. Some more than others but all there to some degree. I'm sure it'll get better when I'm able to run it more and give the bike more time to adjust to them. I have se slipons with cycle shack baffles and a se stage one AC. Stock head pipe with converter. Time and miles will tell but I really like what I'm seeing so far. Motor just seems to be quieter and exhaust is much deeper. I can't say enough about Steve at nightrider. Man what a great Guy and great customer service! He really knows his stuff. Anyway seems to be a great product so far.

Steve is the best! SUPER guy. Didn't have to, but gave me a discount for being in the military.

The dealer is probably going to tell you that you need a SERT (or whatever they called it these days) and that you will damage the bike as is.
I am curious as well, if you bring the bike in for warranty work or a service running the stage 1 add ons without the download (due to using the Xieds) is HD going to pull any weird stuff?
