I'm 5'11 and I have a 9" Freedom Shield (local Colorado Company) and I would buy another from them! They are very nice! Fast service and he followed up with me after I bought the shield. They also ship it with a plastic cover to protect the shield for a test ride to make sure you got the right size. You can exchange it for a different size as long as the plastic wasn't removed! How kick *** is that!
I am 5'8" on a good day, and I have a 6.5" Clearview Recurve on an '08 SG with a Corbin seat. (Trying to give you all the things that interact with windscreen height.)
If I had it to do again I think I would try a recurve with a 7.5" height. Every once in a while a dragon fly or something makes it through the wind-slip generated by the recurve and hits me right in the forehead.
10'' dark gray Freedom Shield (freedomshields.com). I'm 6'3'' sittin' on a Danny Gray ''Big Seat", which is a little lower than the stock seat. It's recurve type and it works great.
I used street glide standard windshield in my flht, it's very uncomfortable in high speed, change to standard clear one.... It's the best so far..... Order KW 6.5" I hope will be better from standard...... Will report soon
