Yes, but I doubt if many would-be thieves would think to remove the saddlebag and side-cover to check if your siren is genuine HD, or if you even have one. The RS-siren mod is not well-known in the greater population of HD owners, mostly just the relative few who read any of the Harley forums, and I doubt of many thieves would assume anything other than the HD item is installed, if anything at all. Remember that if they do defeat the siren they still can't start the bike, and if lock the forks the bike will be very hard to steal. (Not impossible, just very hard.)

As Skratch said, don't wait another minute before installing your security code! If your fob battery fails or you drive-off without your fob you are stranded without a code, although I think the default code is something like "00000" or "12345". I've actually started my bike, removed my workout bag in my saddlebag unknowningly containing my fob, and ridden off--only to discover the fob is 75 miles away after I shut the bike down. With the code you can not only start the bike, but have it secured just as if the fob is in range. So if you forget your keys and fob your bike isn't totally vulnerable. Also, keep the cards giving the code instructions handy, as I always forget the procedure. They are in your owners manual, so tear them out, write-down the code, and put one in your wallet and another hidden somewhere on the bike.

Today I hooked up the RS siren to work in conjunction with the HD siren. Talk about ear splitting loud......
