Default Handle Bar Switch Clutch Issue

OK I put on some Sweepers +2 awhile back. Ever since then the bike would not start in gear with the clutch in. So I go looking and find that the clutch lever will not set in the perch and control housing correctly. Therefore not enough throw to activate the clutch switch correctly. I have checked and rechecked that the conduits are out of the way and in the groove of the bars everything looks great until you go to tighten the two bolts on the clutch perch. When I do this it starts pulling the back of the clutch lever away from the control switch about 3/16". What the heck am I doing wrong? Read the manual several time just on control housing and clutch lever install. I could glue something on the back of the clutch to make up the loss of throw but I would like it right.

Thanks for any ideas.

Have you tried tightening the clutch perch first, then moving the switch box into place & tightening it?

The same thing happened to me a while back after changing the bars. It's just a matter of alignment. Make sure the clutch lever housing and switch box are properly aligned. Take them both off to make sure the wires are in their groove of the handlebar. If it moves away by 3/16" then something isn't flush against the handle bar. Keep at it and you will find it....

OK I found it! The grip was not going on all they way by about a 1/4" and this would place the clutch perch clasps partially on the round part of the bars and not completely over the dimple in the bars for the conduit. This would make the perch go off a little bit but man it was enough to screw this function up. Lesson alway makes sure your grips are on all the way! Thanks for the help men.
