Another tip, make sure you drill out the new holes as large as they tell you to. My tour pak cracked, not from the screw holes, but the tech did say some guys have undersized their drilling and caused cracking from holes that were not big enough when they screwed in the screws.

Everyone fears red loctite, I use it on everything almost, the trick is when you need to remove it get a soldering iron , put some heat to it, and turn it out while it is hot, pretty easy to do.

I won't use red on any bolts 1/4" thread (6mm) or smaller. I'd use blue on those, even if one did come loose, where is it gonna go?

I used the red. The way I see it is if the bike would have came with these hinges I would never think of removing them so the question is, why would you ever want to remove them?

the screws in my premium hinge kit came with a patch of blue on them from the factory. Ever seen the loctite gel? Found some at the parts house and it works slick. No drips, no mess and doesn't evaporate.

I just added a 4-point docking station to my RGC and had the same dilema before install. The instructions say to use loctite red 262, so I bought some. But just before using it, I started asking around, including HD shop guys, and decided on good-old-fashioned loctite blue 242. I just put 3 drops per screw. Now if I decide to sell the bike (slim chance), I can easily remove my docking station.
