Got the Garmin Zumo 550, works well for me. If you are buying one you may want to look at eBay rather than dealer, I saved more than $300 on mine that way. The MP3 option for music is nice as well, means I no longer have to rely on my iPod being plugged into the radio.

The mount I use is from Leader Motorcycle, I really like the way it looks and works. Reasonable price and very good quality. My application is the "eCaddy Deluxe Garmin ZUMO GPS Mounting Kit - CHROME (for Harley controls)" along with the "Ultratilt" option. The ultratilt makes it very adjustable to keep in my sightline which maximizes the view of the screen when I want to use it.

Zumo 450 Standard mount.
I don't need voice directions , you can display it
I have a radio and cd's

1. Good for turning on that "hey thats looks like a good road"
2. Zoom feature you can see what type of turns are coming up
3. Anticipate passing zones if you need to pass
4. Various features for the food,gas,lodging....etc
5. the locking feature is no good...just undue the wingnut **** and take the whole mounting unit..
I always keep it locked up or in motel. at night I set it up for the next day ride

But I do keep a paper map for an overview of where I want to go and "which way"

I'm running a Zumo 450 on my FLHX. I also have the Kyrakyn fuel door mount. Garmin is the only one I would buy, I have had some experience with Magellan. If this one went south, to XM or not to XM - that is the only question, Zumo 660 or 665. Check your dealer, the US stores have mail-in rebates.

Garmin Zumo 550. Have had it since 2005 and it works like a charm.

I would also consider getting a mount for my Droid X and using that as it uses Google maps which are very nice.

Thanks for all the good advice guys!

I have been thinking that the Garmin 660 is only 60 or 70 dollars more that the 500. With my eyesight bigger is always better. So I think I will go with it.

Now for the mount............... Have decided the gas tank mount for my ElectraGlide is not for me. It really looks nice but would take my eyes too far away from the road so I have settled on the handle bar mount.

Now the question is, do I go with the Harley mount that screws into the housing under the mirror or get a Ram type ball mount with a u-bolt set up so I can position it anywhere on the handle bar?

I do want to be able to tilt it around to get the best view. The pictures I have seen on the Harley mount look like it is fixed. Is this true or can you move the cradle around when the GPS is on it?

As my bike rarely spends a night outside and the 600 is water proof it would be really nice if I could lock it down so I don't have to put it in my pocket every time I go into a store or restaurant.

Thanks again for your experiences.

The 660 comes with all the necessary mounting hardware for bike and cage plus a case. Trying to find where I got my handlebar mount which is chrome.
Here it is. Just make sure you get the one for the size bars you have.

If you get the complete kit, it should come with a momo mount and a car mount.

If it doesn't, Ram Mount is where it's at baby!

I would sure go with the Harley mount because of the limited amount of space on the handle bars for mounting items. Just makes it a little easier to add things later.
