Default Heavy Breather vs. Lowers

If I install lowers on my SG will the Heavy Breather be restricted and should I go back to the stock air filter?

There is a guy in the Touring parts in the classified section looking to trade his compact filter for the HB (to fit with lowers) for the full size filter, Colin and then some number is his screen name.

if you do have a problem you can get the chrome backed Ness Big Sucker for $115 shipped on ebay from easternpc.

the chrome back is easy to wipe clean when washing the bike, works with the stock cover ( which does a nice job hiding the wiring to the throttle body )

that way you get the hi flow breather and a washable oiled filter

I guess I should have said that I already have the Heavy Breather installed and was thinking about purchasing lowers.

You should be alright unless you want to add the vents and or
glove boxes....if you want those then I think you will need
the compact breather.

Not positive on this.....hopefully somebody will chime in that
has the set-up.

If you do install lowers there is a shorter elbow available, even with this elbow, the glove box to filter distance is about 1", the glove box will be useless you will not be able to open the door, ask me how I know!

Default HB standard vs HB compact

Only the filter is different, its a compact filter. Not too complicated.

You have to have the short filter, the intakes are one in the same.Aprox 1/2" between the filter and lower so speakers etc. are probably out of the question. No restiction on air flow.No problem getting into the glove box.
