So the mechanic I have gone to for 8 years, as long as I have been riding pissed me off the other day and I want some opinions to see if I am justified or over reacting. I have spent over 10k at this indy shop over 3 bikes. He is old school and does fantastic work, but he is salty as hell, its always like everything is a pain in the *** with this guy and he is being bothered. So fast forward to this winter he did an s&s 95 kit on my 05 flhrs and was recommending a 510 cam gear driven and replacing the push rods to adjustable. For the cams he wanted 1600 and the roller rocker arms like 500. Money is a little tight so I sent him an email asking if there was a cheaper way to go about this, maybe stay chain on the cams, also asked about a cam that would give a little more bang for the buck, cuz o read the 510 is really mild.. He sends me a pissy message back saying he gave me his recommendation already and wouldnt answer the question again, that I could probably get it done cheaper elsewhere, and there I could put in whatever cam I wanted. I told him he was done getting my business. Did I over react?
I'll state a fact..."The Customer is Always Right" so you're probably in need of a new gearhead. I'd say you gave this guy enough business over the years...there are a ton of good mechanics out there that will give you great service....with a smile

Reason: add
I'd just take my business else-where.
He's telling you he doesn't need your business.
Just move on.. and don't look back..lots of other wrenches that need the work..
No, you didnt over react at all. You should have over reatced! Gave that ******* a piece of your mind. Somtimes in my business I have to deal with customers pissin me off but THEY cant no that cuz they wont come back.
I think you were in the right here but no matter what I wouldn't have him touch my bike ever again. He's got a bad taste in his mouth about you now and I wouldn't depend on him to give your bike the care it deserves. Why would he care to do a good job for you if he doesn't respect you.
