Well my HK radio is out again.I've already done the Iron Cross repair last year.
I think they did a fine job,but these radios are garbage. So what are suggestions
for a new system?I would prefer just a new radio that will work with my hand
controls & my Hogtunes if possible.I'm sick of this junker.
You're gonna need a install kit. You'd be better off to get the Hawg Wired kit(metal cage). It's in a different league when compared to the biketronics kit. $50
You're gonna need the module to interface with the stock wiring and HD controls. It's $150.
They are $200 in a kit so might as well get it at once.
Sony is popular by demand. Not saying it's the best option at all, just popular.
i have the biketronics in my bike and there is nothing wrong with it the complete retro kit cost $190.00 from american classics. u can buy the sony kit or u can get a kit for alpine, jvc it just depends on the head unit u want. i bought all alpine bolted right up with no mods at all. the only thing is u wont be able to adjust bass, treble, and balance. the one from hawg wired will cost u more and its not any better then biketronics. biketronics has a liftime warranty on there modules if for any reason it goes out they will send u a new one no questions asked. and your right the HK is junk
I got up this morning to find that Iron Cross Audio has already responded
to an email that I sent them at midnight last night. I think that is some
great customer service.I'm going to pull the radio today & see what I can
see. They gave me some ideas on what to look for that caused this issue.
Thanks for all the advice.I know that when I changed the bars & went to
a new top clamp, there was an issue with it touching the radio & causing
vibration.That's the 1st thing I'm checking.
Firecap(handle on this site) has his own business and sells dynomite audio stuff, and has great prices.
He will bend over backwards to help you out and has great ideas and is very knowledgeable too.
Send him a PM and you will not regret it.
