2004 Electra Glide
Hi all. I've been lurking on here for quite a bit. Got lots of good info and ideas from it. I've been hiding out in the Softail section. I've had an 09 Nightrain since new. Done lot's of mods to it. Decided I needed a bagger for longer trips. Unfortunately I had to put the Train for sale. I was hoping to keep both, but with a baby on the way it's time to make sacrifices. I bought an 04 Electra Glide. The previous owner as done a lot of work to it. I'm still in the process of figuring out everything he did to it. Here's a few things. SE 113", Baker DD6, SG fenders, painted lowers and inner fairing, Mustang seat,pad,backrest, Thunderstar wheels, matching rotors,all lights have been changed, chromed front, Rinehart true duals with 2.5" baffles, Progressively lowered frt and rear. Feel free to point out whatever else as been added. I just don't know what brand some of the stuff is. He gave me a lot of spare parts, everything he took off of it. Havn't had a chance to try it out yet( buried in snow in Alberta). 13,000 mile on bike and and 2500 since the rebuild in 2007. What can I expect for gas mileage? How loud will this thing be? Any issues I should be watching out for? I don't plan on doing a whole lot to this one. More pics in my album. I'll try to answer as much as i can about this bike. I'm sure I'll have lot's of questions.

Nice bike and great move - you will grow to love the FLHT's ride over your previous softail.
It is going to be very loud - but that can be changed easily and quickly.
Depending on your size the lowered suspension may have to be changed back to stock but I would say ride it for a while and see how you like the ride. You have a very good platform for changes.

Was the bike just given a dealer download, does it have a Power Commander or SERT?
Did the bike have a dyno run after the tune?
Realistically it could get anywhere from low thirties to to high forties.
The next thing to check would be if the cam chain tensioners are stock,or replaced with the HD tensioner upgrade or gear drive.
With the low mileage,the stock tensioners(if it still has them) should still be good but should be checked around 20000-25000 miles for wear.
You did not mention if the cams were changed.
You could always try to contact the owner and ask him who did the engine work to get more info.

With that 113" and the Baker 6 Speed I wouldn't think you will have to worry about fuel economy or noise. When leaving the house just screw it on real hard and you should be able to coast for about a half hour and also be able to sneak up on anyone.

I would want to know more about the 113" build. Did he do it or have it built? Which cams, what tuner installed, etc. VERY nice looking bike. Sure looks like owner "did it right." That motor/pipe combo is going to be loud and mean I would think.

Thanks everyone. I'll attempt to answer a few of the questions. Bike is carbed(SE 51mm). So, that takes care of what I have for a tuner. Cams are S7S 585's gear driven. That takes care of the tensioner issues. Bike was not dynoed after the build. Motor was built by a reputable builder at a stealership. Lot's of time was spent tuning it in and breaking it in on the dyno. They didn't want to see what it put out for #'s until it was properly broken in. Heard lot's of good things about the builder and have faith in him. One of the first rides I will take with it will be to my tuner. I'll burn the crappy gas out of it, throw in new plugs and see what this thing puts out. I have the build sheet for the motor. Seems to have been well built. Hi perf starter, battery, oil cooler, manual cr's. I'll have to wait and see how loud it's going to be. I'm coming off an 09 Train with Big Radius 2's with BCT baffles and woods tw-6 cams. I like it loud, but the train was a little more then I wanted. I'll have to see what my riding buddies behind me think. The reason i ask about fuel mileage is that i need to be able to do almost 200mile on the 5 gal tank between gas stations. I think i'll be getting one or two of those saddlebag jerry cans. Even if I don't need them, I might be able to help a fellow brother out. Coming off a lowered Nightrain, hopefully the progressive shocks will treat me right. Previous owner was bigger then I was, and with all the money he put in this bike i think he would of changed the shocks if they didn't suit him. I have the stocks ones in case they don't work out for me.
