I have my Blackberry Storm 2 paired to my Garmin Zumo 550 via bluetooth. The Zumo is then paired with my Nolan N90 helmet which has the Nolan N-Com bluetooth communication set-up with the headset built into the helmet. This configuration allows me to answer and dial the cell phone using the Zumo, which has nice big glove-friendly buttons. The audio comes through the helmet headset from the Zumo. Sound is great on both ends, no problem listening or talking. If I didn't have the Zumo I could pair the blackberry directly to the Nolan and answer with the N-Com controls.
I have the exact same problem with my Sony Ericson phone. Insted of a Bluetooth headset, I have th hardwired system into my helmet. I have tried numerous things to try and fix the problem without any success. I too am interested in any fixes that may be out there.
