Default Install/Eval of Harley Detach Boom Audio

Well I bit the bullet and bought the new boom audio that attaches to the detach windshield on the touring bikes. I currently have a 2008 rk classic so I hooked it up. I was nervous at first since I'm not real good at this stuff and the directions are never real great. I called a friend over to help and the install took about 2 hours (maybe a little less). We ran the power cord under the tank console vs. running under the gas tank or taking it off like directions suggested. Our two hands came in handy keeping the wiring in the console. After we got it back to the battery area, the wiring was pretty easy as long as you read thru the directions. The volume and power console goes on the handle bars and again two hands were handy in keeping the throttle mechanism from slipping around. Speaker hook up to the ws was very simple. Need to clean up the wiring a little but for another time. I was anxious to give it a try. I'm pleased to say at least at 55 mph it was loud enough and pretty decent sound quality for a unit like this. I could certainly hear my Bad Company and Foghat easily. I used an ipod nano for the tunes and just hooked it up to handlebars. The volume unit on the bars is a nice feature with big buttons to maneuver. Might try a youtube video to let you get an idea of sound quality. Still need to take it on interstate for a try but overall I'm pleased. I got this one off ebay brand new and saved a few bucks and free shipping. Took a few pics so you could see it.

I'm glad to see a review of this. I almost asked how the sound was without a windshield, and then it clicked in my head you got the one for the windshield.

Interesting to see how it sounds on the interstate.
