I am contemplating buying a used Corbin, Do these seats break and fit just one butt, or are they good to go even if they are used? Even used these are expensive, and I don't want to spend this kind of cash if I'm not going to get comfort.
I am looking at both the classic solo with the touring pillion pad and the dual tour.
I've sold two used Corbins over the last few years. I will tell you that the buyers paid about 50% of what I paid and the saddles looked almost as good as new when the buyer received them!
But like anything...if you don't take care of it...well, you know! Look at a lot of pictures of the seat you're going to buy...and buyer beware! There are a ton of deals on the HD Forum!
I have had three Corbins over the years. In my experience it takes about 1500 miles to break them in. They have such good support and durability that I don't think it would be a problem to "rebreak" them to a different butt. I won't ride with anything except a Corbin anymore.

I live in Ca and have had all three of my HD's fitted with Corbins... Each one was made at the Hollister factory with me there - its called a ride in appoitment... That seat was made to MY measurments.. Also, people can have seats made to different measurments if they call the factory and talk to them.
In buying a used seat - ask the question - are these 'off the rack' seats or customed in anyway??? could make a difference... I promise you, if you bought my seat and put it on your bike - it most likley NOT fit you...
I also feel there is a break in period and each seat does somewhat form to the riders butt... If I were you, I would call Corbin and ask this question.. better they answer than us....
I love my Corbin and have made two coast to coast - 350+ miles a day for Weeks and feel great at the end..
There is no break-in on a Corbin that I have noticed. I own two and I'm about to order another.
I agree 100%. All this talk, even by Corbin, about the seat breaking in after so many miles has not been my experience with two different saddles. Mine never felt different to me from day one even to twelve years later on my first one.
I always ordered mine (one from Dennis Kirk and one from Corbin) with no special requests and they were firm but comfortable on day one and never noticeably changed. Corbins are especially comfortable on long rides.
