Bought my Classic Solo Close with rider back rest on e-bay from guy who had bought same bike as mine but didn't like the bike and sold it. Ended up getting the touring pillion and passenger back rest new from corbin (they matched the thread). Got everything all in for what the Classic Solo would have been new. Also it is heated. Love the seat. Can't say that I can go endless hours on it, have a bum shoulder so I stop every 2 hours or so for a break. Shoulder usually hurts more than my ****.

I had a Hollywood Solo on my RK Custom. I loved its looks, low and sleek. It rode fine for about 50 miles, at which time it became uncomfortable (monkey butt). My experience is, if you make short trips, it will work out great. But for longer trips, you'll want something with more padding. (I use a HD Sundowner Solo). Corbin makes great seats, great looking, long-lasting. But the Hollywood Solo, for me, was not a 'long-distance' seat. Maybe one of their other models is more for touring, versus short-hauls, and looks. Finally, the Hollywood Solo sits much lower, and moves you further back from the bars. (The Sundowner puts you up a good couple of inches, and moves you right on top of the tank). If you've got a buddy with a seat you think you want to try, talk them out of it for a weekend ride, and try it out. Good luck. Alan

They say it takes 1000 miles to break in the seat. I think it is really breaking your butt into the seat. I've had 4, all used, 2 came with the bike and 2 I bought used. To answer your question, the used one will form to a new owner.

Buy it and enjoy it. just remember they are really firm, so give it time.

I bought a used Dual Tour (4 years old) because I did not want to splash the cash on a new one. Got the seat home, fit it on, immediately went for a ride with the mrs. I had to turn back after 20 miles because my but was hurting and the mrs was whining! Put the seat on the top shelf and put an add up in the local bike forums that it was for sale.

The seat stayed on the top shelf and my seat remained unsold for 1.5 years! I did not budge on the price. One guy called and wanted $25 off and I said no.

There was a tear developing on my stock seat and after awhile, I decided to get the seat rewrapped. Brought the stock seat for re-upholstery. I remembered I had a Corbin on the top shelf, took it down, dusted it off, fit it on the bike. It looked good.. but I remembered it was damn uncomfortable. I decided to try it out once more so I hoped on the bike in my shorts and Crocs and rode around the neighborhood. It was the MOST comfortable seat ever!

I came back, got dressed, got the mrs and went to a bar 80 miles away! No complaints! Took the long way back even.

Till today, the Dual Tour has been on the bike and it's been serving me well for 600mile days even!

And we lived happily ever after.

Default Corbin

After buying the Corbin Classic Solo for my 09 Street Glide I made an "Impulse buy" in Laughlin and bought the FBI Drop Seat Kit on the spot which came with a custom Danny Gray Seat. I ended up going to Corbin and having a custom seat made to fit the Drop Seat Kit. I missed the heated seat and driver backrest! BTW: The Classic Solo is FOR SALE

Thank you vtwin1340. It was an experience watching them make a saddle from scratch. They where the one's that suggested they match the stitching with the pinstripe on the rear fender. I told them if they think they can do it, "Then go for it!" I asked him how much it would cost and he just smiled at me.
