Bought a beat up 08 Electra Glide Ultra and this past weekend i started the rebuilding process to make it Stree Glidish. The 08's EG seem to have different bag supports than the Street Glide. Does anyone know which parts (#'s) I need to do this? Or anything else I need to change? Any and all other information on the subject is welcomed and very much appreciated.
The seat is different, make the tour pak detachable, the rear shocks are 1" lower, do you want to remove the passing lights or just go with a smaller pair, how far do you want to go?
My list is right around 10k right now. New wheels, fenders, tank ext, ext bags, new seat (badlander/sidekick),paint, etc. I am trying to decide between the all-in-one bad dad rear fender or the custom flush turn/brake/run bad dad fender.
wow, you certainly have a plan- but pricey.- as mentioned above, most just detach the tourpak, change the plate mount, seat, pull off the chrome bag rails etc.
before you start pulling apart- what would be the financial out come to sell the Ultra to someone who wants an Ultra...and buy a street glide, maybe with the new frame?
the new frame, abs and other features are pretty good.
I've seen 09 streetglides in great shape for less than 15K.
--------- but you could throw alot of money into one of those as well if you need the customs wheels, bags paint etc.
Just thinking it'd be a shame to dump 20K or more into a bike that'll never be worth that much.
if you had to get out you might take a real bath on it, potential buyers may not appreciate your custom touches

I was planning on redoing a bagger (because why leave anything stock?!?!?!) and this bike popped up. 08 EG with 22,000 mi, clean title, been laid down, for $9k. I had my previous bike paid off (06 Night Train) and just sold that so I have plenty of cash to throw at it, and the way I figure it I am doing pretty good if I "only" have $19,000 into a newer bagger all redone.
