Default Fork Lowers

OK, Taking fork lowers off my 05 ElectraGlide for powder coating tonight. I have read all the treads on this and thanks to you guys I am feeling pretty good about this. But I do have a couple questions left unanswered yet
1st Do I need the air impact gun for the 6mm bolt or can it be done without?
2nd How long does this allen head need to be for the reach? Also is it a 6mm bolt or a 6mm wrench?
3rd Do I need to completely remove forks from bike or can I just remove the lowers and then the cans(covers) and measure out the correct amount of fluid from the book when reassemble?
4th Does anyone have a picture of this homemade pvc tool? I have read many different descriptions of it and am very confused.. I have read 2 inch and have read 1 ˝ inch?
Thanks in advance for any help. You guys on here are great! The bike is not at my house so I just want to be prepared with the right tools before I go over to work on it.

1 - would be nice to have one handy if needed. I've had my lowers off several times and always just used a long shaft phillips head wrapped in a micro cloth to put thru caliper bolt holes to keep the lower from twisting when removing allen bolt. Always breaks free quick. Might want to spray that 6mm bolt the night before if you never had the lowers off.
2 - get a 4" or 6" extended 6mm allen wrench
3 - you'll have to slide the tubes down some to replace the cans, but I always fill mine back up with'em in the trees.
4 - no picture as I've always used a fork seal driver but I think all you need is a 2" x 6" piece of PVC to use as a driver.

I just changed my forks last week and did not do well on the 6mm until the impact wrench and then it took 2 seconds. On mine 1 1/2 was too small and 2" too big so we cut a strip of about 1/2" wide and 10" long out of the 2" piece and put a strap around it to contract it to fit inside. Once you get it started it will slide in.
