I have decided to go with the CFR slip ons. I saw that they came out with new pipes. Are these pipes easier to tune? I am looking for headers now and wondering if I can go with a 2-1-2 or should I use true duals? Im going to use the PCV for fuel. Im not looking for super high performance just real good sound and good rideabilty.
I just installed a set of CRF's on my 2010 Ultra. I believe the only thing that is "new" with the pipe is the kerfs cut into the tip. Internaly I do not believe that there is any difference. But I would call them and ask. You can talk with Cary Faas personaly. He is awesome and will talk your ear off. I used a stock set of headers off of a 2009 bike that I bought for $75 as I wanted to use the Revolution Performance EMS tuner. It will cost you more for this tuner than the PCV, but they are so much easier to use and will afford you flexability with any future mods. No maps, No Dynotunes, no nothing. Just install new pipes, air cleaner, cams, big bore kits, whatever with out all the fuss. Just let the bike warm up after you install the accessories and it is tuned. Mine work awesome with the CFR pipes. In fact this tuner was recomended to me to use with these pipes for ease of tuning. A good map for the PC and CFR is hard to find. Also, some tuners have a hard time using SERT (or what ever they call them these days) to tune CFR's. I found no loss of bottom end using the stock 2-1-2 headpipe and the CFR sound is awesome! If you add Auto tune to your PCV you will be spending more than you would for the Rev. Perf. EMS! I know that fuel moto has a map for CFRs but I think that is for only stock air cleaners. Might check with them if you deciede to go with a PCV. If you are still having problems tuning the pipe. Add a set of torque cones to increase back pressure. I don't think that you should need them if yo are using 2-1-2 head pipe. My 2 cents.

I had my CFR slip-ons with the stock headers for 1 year and then switched to true duals last July. Both configurations work. You'll get a much better sound and the heat will drop significantly on the right side with true duals
I also have a PCV with a good map for the CFRs that Jamie at Fuel Moto sent me and it works with the stage 1 air cleaner.
I'm a very happy camper now.

There NO better sounding exhaust than the CFR's. If I had the money I would have real ones, I do not so I got the copies. Everytime You crank it people turn and look. Nothing sounds like them Deep and loud.
I tried running a PC3 and a few different maps. I heard nothing from Jamie at Fuelmoto about having a CFR map. I would have given that a try for sure. I'm now just running XIEDs and it runs great. I also have a SE a/c and fullsac converted stock headpipes.

It's not a map specific for the CFRs but for true dual headers with 4" slip-ons. PM me your email and I'll send it to you if you want to try it but it's for PCV not PCIII.
I talked to you guys yesterday. You will be hearing from me again soon!!
Thanks for the responses. I think im going to try to find an 09 header for now. I would like to end up with the power duals but im going to wait to build up funds again.
I did look at the power commander site and there are 2 maps for the CFRs. 1 just says CFR and the other says "with insert". does anyone know what the inserts would be?

What site?
I went to Dynojet's website and could only find 1 map, it's map M15-003-063 but it's for S&S 510G cams, not stock.
Go to dynojet.com then click on the PCV. you have to put in year, make, model then on the right side the is a link for maps. they have 3 now, must have updated it yesterday.
