Does the mirrors "blurrr" when the bass hits? if you only install new speakers, no amp?

pez,

just asking for clarification. on your website, it says the amp is for powering the rear speakers. in the SG install (first post on this thread), the amp is powering the front speakers. do you have an updated set of instructions on your website for this kind of setup? i have a classic and have no plans to install rear speakers. what's the cost for 2 front speakers and the amp? you can reply to this post or email me at sc0ut06egc@msn.com

thanks!

I have an 06 SG with the Hogtunes and NO amp. There is no blurr at all with them. Not enough bass to cause it. That could change with an amp though.

The amp in the Ultrasound kit powers the front speakers and the deck powers the rear speakers. All you are doing is installing the Ultrasound kit but without the rear speakers. The wiring harness still contains the wires for the rear speakers, you just don't use them.

From the website: "IMPORTANT: The Ultrasound™ kit always has the amplifier power the front speakers, and has the built in radio power run the rear speakers. Never run a 2 ohm (or lower) speaker directly off the Ultrasound Amplifier! Never run more than 2 speakers directly off the Ultrasound Amplifier!"

Thanks Clines, you answered one of my other questions. I was wondering why i would need to rewire the back speakers . Thats only if you are "ADDING" rear speakers such as to an Electra.

Guys

I need to be VERY clear that when I wrote the manual, we never planned on selling the amplifier by itself, and had not tested the amp with 2 ohm speakers. Up until recently, we were not convinced the amp would be stable at 2 ohms. Fact is, we ran the amp in a sealed box with an internal temp of 100 degrees f and ran the 2 ohm speakers for 24 hours before we had any issue. Im convinced the amp is OK using the 2 ohm speakers, however, although the amp makes no more power using the 2 ohm speakers, it will run about 20 degrees C hotter. If any one did have any issue, we would be sure to make it right as usual.

If a customer with an 06/07 bike orders the amp and speakers, we will always ship the 6 ohm speakers for the fronts as they play as loud, but keep the heat in the amp down.

As always-got questions---gimme a call

PEZ,

So the 0914's are the 6 OHM's right?

Hooking up the AMP tomorrow night after Uncle Sam is done making me miserable , LOL. Thanks again for the AWSOME customer service.

OK, so let's say I want to upgrade my 07 SG sound system. Are the #0902-AA (2 Ohms) gonna be enough; are they gonna make a noticable difference? Or, would you recommend the Model #0914 (5.75 Ohms) speakers and 48 watt amp? If I could get away without putting all the additional weight up in my fairing, I'd be happy with that?
But if the amp and speaker combo make that much of a difference over just the Hogtunes speaker set alone, I might decide to go for it.

Hey

All our speakers were designed to work off the radio. The amp was designed as part of our rear speaker kit were an amp MUST be present to run the extra set. Some guys want it all, and the amp does make things better as far as clarity and bass

Hope this helps------
