I changed the stock hearers on my 2010 SG to Full Sac 2 in 1 headers. They are in the same configuration as stock headers and use stock heat shields, no CAT and have O2 bungs as well. One of the best moves I've made.....decreased heat, increased power and improved sound with V&H High Output slip on.

I'm not opposed to gutting my stock header but how could I gut it without cutting it in half? I don't want to chop it unless I have to

Cheapest way to go,and not that difficult. easy cause its a 2-1,and you just remove one exhaust.I cut mine with a cutting disc on my grinder, but not down the center.I cut closer to the end of the cat towards the O2 sensors like a half inch from first weld on header and used a 3/16 drill bit all around. The drill bit is 12 inches long, more than enough and tapped it out the other end.Welded back up and grinded the weld and smoothed it out with a sanding disc.Simple!

easy as pie. here is what mine looks like after I gutted the cat out of it. Cut, gut, Weld, Sand and paint with High temp header paint.

i went the american custom route and am pleased. they'll send you a stock head pipe that has been cut open and removed the cat. you send them your stock head pipe with cat in for a core refund. cheap and easy way to do it.
