Default 2010 roadking run

Friend has a 2010 Roadking has the stage one ,air cleaner,and Vance and Hines slip ons,with the download.This bike runs like crap dealer says that he needs to pull the cat off.They say they wont do it but it needs to come off to gain any thing.
Has anyone removed the cat from one these and if so what what were the results.

define crap. not up to expectations, or missing and farting?


With free-er flowing air cleaner and mufflers
the cat now becomes the bottleneck to performance.

whatever the "tuning" was done is kind of a mystery (?)

aftermarket headers are available- and many Guys here have had good results cutting the header, removing the cat and welding back up.

there are tutorials with photos- do a search and you'll find.

Yeah I agree: define CRAP.

Here is what the header looks like cut in half.
That catalytic converter is about 6 to 8" long in there. Seems pretty restrictive to me.

Somthing is very weird here and it would seem to center around the re-map.
I put Night Stick slip-ons and a Stage 1 kit on my 2010 RG 200 miles ago and it runs GREAT.
It goes in for the 1000mi service (and re-map) next week. If it doesn't run at least as well as it does now, I will let you know.
My guess is the tech screwed up your map.

TFB, thanks for the pics. No wonder it gets so freakin hot. I guess I need to look into fixing that problem.

the op said "download" not a remap or dyno run. if it was only the download that would be 1 of 2 issuies the cat would be the other,if it was on the dyno its time to find a new dyno operater.

Just runs not up to expectations does run not much better than it before the download,aircleaner and slip ons

Take the Cat Conv off !!!! Too restrictive
for a 2 cyl eng. Keep it, in case we have to smog
bikes someday. Pray that day never comes.
We're all screwed


Does anyone make a true dual setup with a
cross over of some kind (Like a dual exh syst
in a car)?
