no i have never took a picture of this but it works very well,i can sleep along side my scooter and stay nice and dry, this method is used when iam riding hard and fast, when i get tired i start looking at corn fields and fence rows that i can sneak into and catch some zs,the only thing is i forgot to mention is that the tarp i use is 12 by 24 the 24 stakes down much better the 16 was a little cramped. You can do this at home to see if it works for you, just park your bike on the edge of the 12 section and lift the tarp over the bike and pull tight and stake out,I think alot of people will try this now that i have revealed another secrete from my 35 years plus of motor cycle riding.p.s. when i travel this way i am carring my piece and i always place it on my floor board i guess it gives me piece of mind when i am in the middle of nowhere but i have never been bothered yet and for that matter i dont even think people new i was around!

Cooking, sleeping bags, road gear? REI has about the best stuff while it is a little more expensive they always take it back and its usually very high quality. You can try military stores for some camping stuff. Get a roll for the sleeping bag it will save the back.
As far as what type of gear reccomendations, just the basic necessities in compact lightweight form, tents that pack easy, sleeping bag that does the same, light etc.
I have done alot of camping/backpacking in the past (25yrs ago), just not up on all the new stuff out today.
Thanks

I have a Eureka Timberline 2 that I used to use on hunting trips. Lightweight, super tuff, and keeps you dry. I also have the vestibule and large awning for it so you can cook under it in the rain.

Eureka 3 man for 2... 2 man for 1 person tents. Mine set up in 5 minutes anywhere, have a vestibule to keep gear dry, are very light weight (around 5 lbs.) and compact pack size.

What do you do about coffee and brushing your teeth after you get up. I have to have my coffee and usually logon and see what's new on HDforums.

My needs in a tent are just sleeping shelter and compact packed size (and light weight). I just take my backpacking tent on the scoot, as it fits in a saddlebag, taking up very little room.
It sleeps 2 with room for gear inside. Made in the USA by Henry Shires... it's a Tarptent. I have the Cloudburst 2 model. It weighs all of 38 ounces. It's 94" long, 70" wide in front, 51" wide at the foot and 42" high with 37 square feet of floor area. Packed size is 20" x 4" x 4".
This thing has kept me high and dry through some hellacious storms.
