It may say chrome on the can, and the cap might look just like the chrome you have in mind, but when you spray it - it will be nothing more than a super fine metallic silver paint!!!

I just checked out their website and this stuff looks like a pretty good choice to try out. Not a $6 can of paint though.

I did see one of the chrome outfits on the web that claim to be able to chrome plastic. Not sure how they do it but it my be worth a try. Must be some way to do it. Otherwise how do they make those chrome lookin hubcaps and such....

There is a special plating process for chroming plastics.
Saw it on "how its made".The episode I saw was about plating plastic truck grilles.
They have several chemical tanks and use electricity to bond the chrome to the plastic.
