07's with security problems???
That is the "Global" model, 5 amp/hr max output.......
Considered an International model by most.....
The company that markets with the name BATTERY TENDER, also sells them under the HD Label.....
Again, HD does NOT install them on the bikes from the factory....
That is a dealer issue, and your sales person or whoever delivered your bike to you SHOULD have gone over that little snippet of info......
As you might actually want to PURCHASE one, to go with the harness....
You can use a regular BATTERY TENDER brand unit on that harness....

So is this thread about battery tender pigtails or 07 security problems? j/k!
On a side note, one of my riding buddies owns a battery recycle company and he swears by not allowing his "jiffy stand" to complete a ground path for the bike through concrete... i.e., he parks his scoot on a piece of carpet. Claims that parking on concrete "always" completes a ground path for the electrical system and especially in the winter this can cause the battery to discharge at a higher rate... personnally, I think he made this up to cover up for parking the scoot on carpet (candyazz) but then again, haven't heard anybody dispute the fact either... I remember my grandfather taking the batteries out of the tractors during the winter and storing them on shelves - could this be an old wives tale?

I use an OPTIMATE battery tender when I store over winter. If my bike is not run for a couple of months the drain and natural discharge on the battery may cause the battery to go flat.
This is my experience which was backed up by my dealer when he sold me my new 07. I have used the OPTIMATE for about 6 years now, as the same problem was noticeable on my Triumph speed triple, and my Kawasaki 1100.
A couple of weeks isnt a problem, but if you are not riding for a couple of months then I would advise some sort of battery tender.
Oh and just in case you wonder, its not the cold or snow that stops me riding for 2 months, its the damn salt they put on the road, it will kill a bikes finish quicker than you can say corrosion.
