I think they are a worthwhile investment. I found that this past fall, I would have them on when I left in the morning, and as the day got warmer I took them off and put 'em in my bags.

LOVE THEM. Get the nylon ones...the vinyl are tough to work with when it gets cold. Don't need to get **** about outside temp (55). Local dealer mechanic (western NY) runs them all year. They are covered with bugs and look fugly. Wouldn't do this myself but I don't worry if I put them on and it warms up. Also use them when raining when I've got a long ride...regardless of temp.

Here are a few pics to look at.
+1 one those...Use them on my SG. The mesh in the center keeps your engine clean as a bonus. Plus they go on with velcro which is better then the snaps.

I have them for my fatboy. They are absolutely worthless for temperature/cold, but do help keep my lower legs and feet a bit drier in rain.

Work great keeping me warmer and my feet dry but I get more buffeting with them on.
Still nice to have for the cooler months.

I use the nylon ones. They work great.Mama says she
can tell there is less cold air on her with them on.
Therefore they also contribute to less noise from the
back seat.

I run the HD ones and put them on mid fall and leave them on until late spring. I've left them on into the 70's and have never had a heat issue. I think that disclaimer comes from the HD law staff and I think you can run them in warmer weather. But why would you. Their easy to remove and install and don't take up much room in the saddle bag. A great alternative to hard lowers.

I've considered these but wasn't sure if they had accommodations for the highway pegs? If not, do you guys cut yours or do you take off your pegs? Thanks...
