Gps
I recently bought a Garmin Zumo 660 and it seems to be a good piece of kit. Have not used it too much yet but the reviews I read before I purchased it were mostly positive. One drawback is that it is quite expensive (in Ireland anyway).
My husband and I both have the Garmin 550 on our bikes. They are for motorcycles and less expensive than other models. You can upload the maps from the Harley Ride planner directly to the GPS. We use a Ram mount. My husband rides an Ultra and I have a Fatboy.
GPS on a bike! What for? In my opinion you never get lost on a Harley you just enjoy different scenery. Only seen GPS' on Goldwings!

IF and IF I feel like I need it I just use my HTC Droid and plug it into my aux jack shove it in my Tbag on the windshield and listen to the radio till I know I 'm getting close to a turn switch back and listen for my next set of direction.
You need to get out more. I have used GPS on numerous bikes over the years, including ATVC/quads. You don't have to be lost to use a GPS, they make traveling through Orlando or Washington DC so much easier. You can turn the thing off....and just ride, but when you need gas, food....a motel...or a beer, turn it on and search for a nearby place. If you have cell phone (you probably don't) hook up the blue tooth and call ahead using the GPS adreess book. Download your favorite tunes and never hear a rotten song. GPS are not for every one...Garmin ZUMO or NUVI should be fine. ZUMO water proof. NUVI are pretty hardy though (and cheaper)
