Amp location
Got an amp from my son for xmas and with the winter upgrades pretty much completed its time to pull the batwing to get to the alpine stereo back, I plan on mouting the pioneer amp either in the tour pack or the side saddle bag, any suggestions on mounting technique? Rubber mount etc?
I used heavy duty velcro on the inside of my tour pac. Been about a year and hasn't slipped or moved. I was kinda worried about it because of the summer heat and it breaking down the glue, but, so far so good!
I made a mount board out of some 1/2" OSB board, covered it with some gray ( as close as I could match the factory tour pack liner color), that I bought at WalMart, and used threaded rod where the tour pack hold down bolts go. Put chrome acorn nuts on the tour pack end for looks. This is an excellent ground source also !!
You can see my 4gauge ground cables, and threaded rod in this pic.

Turned out good, is very sturdy, and was very cheap !!

I have a Standard and I mounted my mini amp inside of the frame in the hole under the seat. I don't actually have a stereo head unit, I just hook my Ipod up to the amp and out to the speakers. I use a toggle switch for my power and mounted it into an existing hole. It works great.
