what I was told was (the compensator and gears weren't removed) you can see wobble on the end of the assembled package if there was an issue... now my background wayyy back was high $$$ diesel engine machine shop up to 2,000 hp, and I was also a jet aircraft and nacelle mechanic before that, so eyeballs are great tools..
I agree with FastEd, you check crank run out on the cam side. Dude you are getting hosed on this deal. I really hope you get it figured out. Sound to me like you've outpassed your dealer as far as knowledge goes. I too am curious to know the dealer. But it's up to you to name them. Good luck
Thanx for the honest input from everyone, I just want the bike fixed to how it was pre-bump.
That's all, nothing more, nothing less, I never asked for a free ride
It was suggested to me yesterday to look for a cracked or bent frame.. I am not qualified to do that.
I won't name the dealer until the facts are all in one way, or the other, thats not the right thing to do right now, and I still might not do that... If I find that the runout is under .012 but over .002 and that's a Harley printed allowance, thats not the dealers no-go fault, if in fact they checked it at all.... if it's over that or they didn't check it, hid it from me, or just flat missed it, then I have grounds for a conversation, handling matters, and taking business elsewhere. I did *specifically* ask for that to be done, to add or subtract that issue from the equation, and fully expected to be charged for it, but the results were not shown on the final bill.
I'd be taking that bike to a different dealer and trade it in..
take the loss and stop throwing good money after bad!
the new touring frame rides way better than your '07 anyway.
I completely understand that, but since I know there is an issue somewhere i'd feel really bad if someone bought it from an innocent dealer and got hurt, or worse, later... we had a 1980 Pontiac Phoenix SJ lemon we ordered and bought new, latest and greatest FWD creation, that ate 7 trans and cv shafts faster than bran flakes in 2 years... and then we traded it in on a 1982 5000 Turbo Audi, and the lady that bought it got killed 3 weeks later on the x-way when the trans locked up, and she smacked the divider wall, left a husband and 3 kids behind... I never forgot that, to this day it deeply bothers me, I just can't do it...
I have read all of these pages about the SERT. This time last year I bought a nice 07 road glide. I am very happy with it. It came with Rienhart true duals, fixed mount tour pak and a SERT. At least that is what I was told that was added to the bike. It could have more, I don't know. It came with the black box and a cd, no cables. I tried to read all the files on the cd but my virus scanner was complaining about one file. I assume that was my map.
2 questions: So what can I do with this, how do I know what my map actually is.
If I am traveling do I need to carry with me the black box and the cd?
Folks,
It came with the black box and a cd, no cables. I tried to read all the files on the cd but my virus scanner was complaining about one file. I assume that was my map.

Only the base maps are on the cd. If you had the cables you could connect to the bike and ask to get ecm info. That should show what base calibration has been loaded. It will not tell you what has been done to the map. Travelling with the black box allows access to the ecu if needed. Usually you would have a copy of the "custom" map installed in your bike. You can also download the 4.77 (latest) version of the SERT off the net.

I do remember on one of the forums they posted the pin out such that you make your own cables. I think it was on hdtalking.com Where on the bike would the SERT be located?
