2011 Police Electra vs. Electra Classic/Ultra/Street Glide
I have an opportunity to grab a 2011 FLHTP for a good price. While the Cop-Glides don't come with a stereo or cruise, I'm pretty handy so this won't be too much of an issue, or expense, should I choose to add these features later.
Although the Cop-Glide is basically the same bike as an Electra Classic/Ultra & Street Glide, which do you think has the best cool-factor?
I'd say go for the cop glide if your handy and don't mind putting your own parts on the bike, I have personalized everything that I own (trucks, bikes, atv's, ect.) so I love the idea of starting with a blank canvas and making it my own, on the cop glide you'll get the 103" motor, oil cooler, upgraded charging system among others. I really don't care about the radio so that was not a big deal for me but not very tough to install one yourself.
I really love mine and glad I did go this way instead of an classic or an ultra. Good luck and ride safe.

There's just something about the looks of a Cop-Glide that does it for me.
Although I like them, I can't recall the last time an Ultra turned my head.
What's the price difference? Those cop bikes are usualy pre-ordered by the dept with a deposit. If they don't take it they lose the deposit. Maybe the dealer can make you a really sweet deal. By the way, I love the cop bikes.
Before I even got the bike I had my mind made up I was going to paint it but once I got it home and got to really looking at it the vivid black with white birch color grew on me, then my buddies saw it and said leave it alone, I'll tell you I'm glad I didn't paint it cause it's not like everyone else's, at bike night 300 + bikes only cop glide we saw at least with original paint, that was cool.
I did strip some parts and added some others, kinda the street glide look with hockey pucks, police air cleaner, cop paint. go for it for the right price I don't think you'll regert it. Peace

I can get the new 2011 Cop-Glide (w/ABS) for $15,098, out the door. The bike is all vivid black.
However, my first color choice would be a 2-tone: vivid black with brilliant silver accents & pinstripes on the sides of the tank, bags, & top of the front fender. This is the sticking point for me.
Assuming I removed all the tins, what should I expect to pay to have stock HD brilliant silver accents & pinstripes added added to an all black bike?
That's a pretty sweet deal if you can add-on what you want. I personally like the idea of the all black (no pin stripes), and it's a great canvas to do what you want to the bike. Great place to start your "black out" unit if that's your taste.
I took a set of cobalt blue tins and added vivid black as a second color and silver pinstriping in the same color scheme as the Limited bikes. I also had a Dragonfly fairing painted, so it's not a direct comparison, but if you remove the tins yourself, take them to a paint shop to have a second color and contrasting pinstriping added, I wouldn't think it would run more than 4 to 5 hundred max, and maybe less. I left my fenders all blue, but I'm probably going to add some black to them, too, next time I have an excuse to have some paint work done.
You could also swap the lids on the police saddlebags for civilian style lids. In doing so, you'd have a few little holes in the saddlebags to fill, but if you were doing paint anyway, it wouldn't add all that much to the job.
