Default Harley Davidson Garage Door Opener Kit

I just installed the HD Garage door opener on my 2010 Street Glide. I will have to say the instructions were precise and the installation went seamlessly. I am very happy with the product.
My garage door opener was a 20 year old craftsmen that I have installed new gears in 2 times just because it works great. It handled the reciever harness without a hitch.

I highly recommend this kit.

I have one in the box ready to install. Put one on my Fatbob, and it was a pain ... instructions look a little easier for the Roady, once I get the fairing off.

I have it installed and absolutly love it. If I would have spent my own money I probably would have flash to pass based on reviews but got it for Xmas and I agree with OP easy and to the point. Just wish HD would make it plug and play rather than cut and splice.

Just a thought here but you can go to an electronics store and get a simple Xmt and Rec and build this yourself for around 15-20 bucks. Really not a big deal if you can solder a little bit. Maybe I should do a DIY on this and list the website where to order. The HD kit is great but was overpriced for what your paying for IMO

I've got one already but that would be great to see and I bet alot of others would be on board with a step by step with photos.

This is the only page I have read that says Harley's is easy. You have to remove the tank don't you?

One day I was throwing away some warranty parts at an auto dealership. Found a sunvisor that was warrantied for a vanity bulb and ripped out the Homelink. Had no idea why I might need one, but I pulled it out today and am gonna figure out a sexy way to make it a part of my bike. I'll be able to control up to 3 garage doors for free. Cross your fingers for me. I hope I helped someone with an idea. Maybe a junkyard? Maybe you or a friend work at a dealership?

There are several threads on DIY garage door opener mods, just complete a search. Have to admit I followed one of them and the job was not real difficult if you know how to solder. I used a momentary switch from radio shack instead of the high beam switch along with an extra Sears Craftsman opener that I had laying around.
