Default Question for NE riders

Four of us will be riding through NE this June. We are timing the trip so that we can be in Laconia, NH on 6/18 to check out the rally. We plan on getting a room somewhere just inside of ME on the 17th and spending the night of the 18th in VT, probably around Rutland. In the past when we ride together we do not make any reservations in advance as this allows us to keep our options open. The question is, should we make reservations this time because of the rally or will we be staying far enough away that we should be able to stop at most any hotel at the last minute and still get a room??

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

No problems on rooms that far away. I live in WRJ area just east of Rutland and an hour away from Laconia. We are pretty much the capital of hotels. WRJ literally has about 10 hotels in town. The only issue is if the Aquatic Center has a major swim meet, but that's usually over in the spring. Rutland has several places as well.

From Vermont here also, and I agree with Dawg. That far away from Laconia you should be OK. I've stayed in Hampton Inns in both WRJ and Rutland, both are very nice and include a hot breakfast, although they are a bit on the pricey side. They will usually let you park the bike under their canopy overnight. Be careful of some of the independent, less expensive motels in VT..some are very nice, some aren't.
