I bought and installed a PCV from Motofuel about a week ago. Although it was mapped from them to my bike and my '07 Ultra runs great with it. Now it is harder to start. Before the PCV it would nver turn over more than twice, now it turns over probably 4 or 5 time before it starts. I wanted to look at some maps to see if I could figure something out, but I cannot get any maps to come up on the disk that was sent with it. Am I doing something wrong with my computer? Shouldn't I be able to see other maps?
As soon as you turn the switch on hit the start button, don't wait for the light to go off on dash. PCV is ready to go as soon as you turn on the switch. I think they told that. Mine was the same as yours now hit the start button as soon as I turn the switch on and it starts right up.

Okay this may be stupid, but... Since the bike is fuel-injected what would waiting 2 seconds for the light to go off have to do with it starting hard. It's not like there is a carb to flood out, PCV or not it should start anytime after you turn on the ignition and hit the butten 10 minutes later... Right? I just purchased a PCV and pipes from Jamie a few weeks ago, and haven't got around to installing yet and I am very curious on this one.

It's not a stupid question, but answering is not easy and I'm a bit vague on the details. It has to do with the PCV rebooting after the fuel pump switches off, which occurs before the check-engine light goes off, IIRC. Since it takes a second or two to reboot again you have a delay. Just turn the switch on and start the bike immediately and you shouldn't have any delay at all. There is no reason to wait, and no mention of doing so in either the owners or service manuals, at least for my '07. I've started my bike for four years and 43k miles with no problems, and it starts immediately every time.
Thanks for the info on the IAC. I install a new one as you suggested and my idle problems have gone away. Like I said between that and the PCV it is running great. Now if I can just find some maps I'll be happy.
The disk is the software to the PC-V,there are no maps on disk.you can go to PCs website and download maps to your computer or ask Jamie at FM to email a different map, then you'll see maps on your computer. As for hard starts look at your current map and on zero percent throttle column, zero out the 500 to 1250 rpm range. I did this on my 2010 FLHX map and now it starts just fine even after the fuel pump stops priming.Hope this helps and gets you back to great starts.
