Relo companies are notoriously difficult when it comes to financial settlements & "making things right". Get your corporate people involved and demand they fight for you. Best of luck!!
Hope it all works out for you. Uncle Ned is right, get your company involved especially if they picked the movers. Buddy of mine had damage (not a bike) to some of his chit during transport. The moving company lowballed, delayed, dragged their feet and when he finally got them nailed down to to a settlement price, they delayed and drag assed around some more. Go medieval on them if they try that chit.
Just arrived in Nashville and sitting in temp housing drinking a cold bud and getting cought up on the fourum. To the guys that said what the hell was I thinking, using a moving company to move my baby's. Your absolutley right!! What the hell was I thinking. Apperently I wasnt. Iwas hoping to make this as painless as possible and let the professionals do it, LOL. Some of us idiots have to learn the hard way. But make no mistake about it, they will fix the bike to my satisfaction. Cant wait to start exploring Nashville and the surounding area. The weather is starting to turn beutiful and this weekend my better half and I will be scouting some of the local watering holes for Bike Night!!!!
Welcome to Nashville. Sorry about your moving experience. Bost HD has the best service department in Nashville, and I've been to them all. Tim is the service mgr., and will shoot straight with you, and no BS. Ray Ashworth is in sales. No BS from him either, just honest dealings.
My company is relocating to me to Nashville from Atlanta. The moving company showed up yesterday and packed everything up. the last thing to load on the semi today was my dyna wg and rkc. When loading the RKC they let it get away and it fell off the lift 4 ft to the ground. Its totally F--ked. New Heritage handlebars, right side Willie G , heated grips, Right side floor board and shifters sadle bag, axel cover, highway bar and pegs saddle guard and the list goes on.it his so hard, now I am worried the frame may be tweeked. It can be fixed but still, this was my baby that I spent many hours making it my own. No matter what it will never be the same. Just Damn!!
I would have never let the moving company transport my bike 4 hours away. I'd have made the company let me ride it to Nashville, then paid my ticket back to Atlanta to do the same for the 2nd bike, or at a very VERY minimum, required a separate trailer and/or company that specializes in bikes.
Hate to hear that happened. That would totally suck.
I have a question, why in the hell would you allow the movers ajuster to see your bike? You have your own full coverage insurance no doubt, so why not turn it over to them? It's their job to make it right and then they go after the movers to recover their loss. They will not skimp or miss a damn thing because they know they are getting every dime back from the movers insurance. If you let the movers insurance handle it they will do all they can to cut corners and screw you. Besides that, I would make sure that frame is shot cause I would rather have a new bike than a repaired one any day.
