I purchased an extended harley davidson console due to adding street glide seat to my 2000 classic. I have it mounted but there is about 1/4 gap between console and tank. Any suggestions?
I bought one for the same reason, different seat.I did not care for the HD filler piece so I got another one , I think it was made by Custom Chrome , it is metal and chromed . It fit much better and rather flaring out at the bottom it kept the lines of the stock tank panel.

Are you saying a 1/4" ? I have the extended console and a Screamin Eagle Road King seat and also a C&C custom seat and mine fits up tight. I used to use those fillers but they will ruin your paint there over time.
If it is just a 1/4" gap I would try to reposition the tang that is under the front of the seat to allow it to move forward and also reposition the rear mounting tab. They are just riveted on. Epoxy works wonders too.
looks like a recliner in your work area there,
I LIKE IT!!!!!
I like to be comfortable when I read my service manual and watching TV. LOL! I found that chair next to a friend of mines house beside the road. Seemed in good shape so I brought it home.
Thanks guys. I will look at it closer when I get home. It seems like it is to far forward.
I should have read your thread closer. I was thinking a gap at the seat. The console should be tight against the tank. Where is the gap exactly? May be the rubber grommet around yout tank filler neck is not on correctly.
