hello everyone, help bike has hiccup at 2000-2500 rpm.it will shut down and backfire out the exhaust. dealer changed spark plugs and wires, injector cleaner and several maps to no avail. now the tech is stumped does anyone have any ideas? thanks Bill.
Sounds like it's all in the tune to me. Are you sure he tuned it or did he just put a canned MAP in it? Have him get you a copy of the MAP that's in it and e-mail it to me if you want, I can tell you what adjustments he made or didn't make. It sounds like your bike is either getting to much fuel or not enough in those ranges to me, which would be in the tune. If you want you can PM me and I can give you my e-mail addy for the MAP.
Then that's the problem. The canned MAPS aren't spot on for your setup. The tech should know this. You either need to dyno tune or learn to smartune. Or find a MAP more suitable to your build. (but I would still do a proper tune).
