Default O2 Sensor Question

Bought a set of Vance & Hines Pipes for my 09 FLHP only to find out later that they were for a 10' or 11' model. They bolt up fine, but the O2 sensors from the 09 don't fit in the new pipes.
QUESTION:
Will 2010 or 11 sensors work with my 09 bike? I know they'll fit the pipes. Just not sure if they'll connect & work with the ecu.
Thank You!

No from my understanding they will not. you either need to sell me those pipes LOL.. or go with a Tuner like the PCV that doesn't use the O2 sensors and plug the bung holes.

I believe they changed the type of O2 to a 4 wire heated in '10

Even if you could wire them in, I doubt they'd communicate well with the ECM. Different lingo.

You can put the bigger bungs in, but if your seller will make it right I would exchange them. If it's all on you the bigger bungs are no big deal to change out.

Aren't the sensors a wider band, and will his older ECM recognize them?

Put on a PC5 and auto tune wide band sensors. It will work perfectly. I have a stock 09 head pipe on my 2011 (to get rid of cat) and the above PC5 set up above.

They are different, and the new ones are smaller and heated. I don't think the older bikes will work with them. The bigger bungs for the older O2 sensors are easily welded in.

I have a 2010 FLHTP with the V&H propipe. Sounds great !!! To answer your question, the smaller 12mm bungs for the 4 wire heated Delphi O2 are further downstream than the 18mm bungs for the 2 wire Bosch O2s that are located close to the head. Exchange the system for the correct unit.

Default Thank You!

Thanks Guys. I think I'm going to buy a PCV and plug those O2 holes. I appreciate the insight on the issue. It really helped. Thank You!
