The following is an actual conversation that took place one week ago.

Me: If all the parts are in, may I make an appointment to drop off the bike Monday morning and pick it up Tuesday night?

Service Dept. No, you we can't schedule the appointment because you have to drop the bike off to get on the schedule.

Me: Once I drop it off how long does it take to start working on the bike?

Service Department: Right now it can take three to five days but it really depends on when you drop the bike off.

Me: So for four hours of labor the bike needs to sit here potentially for a week before you get to it?

Service Department: Yes. It might not take that long. It depends on who is on the schedule. There is no other way to do it.

Me: So why can't I make an appointment one week from now?

Service Department: We need the bike here. There is no other way to do it.

Me: Thank you. Insert sound of bike riding off into the distance.

Sorry, we couldn't find the issue. We put a new fuse in it and it blew also. We've got a few hours of diagnostic time into it, but how does 1 hour at $85 sound?

Pay $85, ride it home and find the issue within 20 minutes.

Sorry you guy have so much trouble with your dealers.

Mine treat me like gold.

I swapped out my handlebars a couple of weeks ago and after changing the cables I developed a leak in the mouse trap cover. Didn't feel like messing with it so I dropped it off at the dealer saturday morning and went to work. Went to pick it up saturday afternoon, leak was repaired and covered under warranty.
