Default Found out I am not alone. Damn thing just fell off!

Has anyone else here had issues with Arlen Ness Big Sucker A/C? We were on our way to Daytona last week and about 100 miles into our trip I noticed my AC cover was gone. Then I looked and the whole damn element was also gone. While I was wearing my fullface helment which I had not worn in years, and hearing all kinds of new sounds from the wind, my buddies were behind me trying to miss the football spinning on the interstate. I was on another forum and to my surprize others have had similar issues with A.N. lately. Mine was on for only 4000 miles and one of the standoff bolts was snapped and the small screws were gone from the other two. And yes I used the locktite which was provided. Anyone else have any issues? I wish I would have read those other posts before I bought another one at the beach.

Yes...Runnin hard to enter freeway, heard some metal clanking. Looked in mirror and saw some chrome bouncing down the ramp behind me. Stopped and picked it up and examine my Glide. Football was still in place , but both Breather bolts were gone. The one I found was snapped in Half (other half still in Head Block). The other Bolt was completely backed out (not broke). The installer( previous owner) claimed to have used proper torque values and locktite. Since i did not install, I can only assume what may have been the cause...

Just got mine put on last week. Now I'm nervous about my choice of A/C's. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I've had the Screamin Eagle and now the Arlen Ness BS. I don't see the difference except you don't have to take the Bracket off with the Arlen ness.

If it's installed correctly, I don't see how theres a problem. It's like everything else on the bike, It needs to be checked at service intervals for tightness. I've never had mine work loose.

I had my last one on my 2005 for 5 yrs and no problems. I don't think everyone who has had problems did not know how to put an air cleaner on. As a matter of fact they give you the locktite and 5 out of 8 already have threak locker on them. From what I read on another forum if I did not buy a replacement already I would opt for another brand. BTW it had another 1000 mile before service due

The football is too damned heavy for the design.
They work more reliably with the smaller round Ness covers
