Default American Customs Exhaust

I'm wanting to get more sound out of my 2011 Roadking and I saw a piece on TV for American Customs where you send in your exhaust and they will change out your baffles to get more sound, the clips on the computer sound pretty good, i was just wondering how many on here have tried them and are they worth it or is it better to stick to V&H, Thunderheaders or Rinehart.

I am going the American Custom route in the near future. I like the fact that you can modify the baffles with a drill to get the sound you want. Or, can always buy new baffles.

I have them and like them. They are just stock pipes so don't expect something fancy. They drill them out and install baffles. I don't see any sense in getting the street friendly baffles, might as well just keep the pipes stock. The open bomber is loud and deep which I like but my neighbors don't, so I got the mid range baffles (plus one extra set, if you are like me, you will need them). First I enlarged the holes from 3/8" to 1/2" (I think). I ended up adding two more rings of holes around each of the baffles. I notice with most pipes there is a little tick, tick, tick noise, air popping through to few and to small holes, I drilled until that ticking was gone, added two more holes to complete the ring and called it good.

Another option is the CFR knock offs for about $200. Not adjustable but they sound pretty good the way they are.

I have an 09 Ultra Classic. Got the pipes last year. I drilled the baffles out until I got the sound I wanted. Very happy with them. Very good customer service.

09 Road King - slash up bombers - bought the mid range baffles - don't use them - VERY deep tone (gotta take off EZ when around the house) - You'll probably end up needing a Fuel Pac or similar!
BIG bang for the buck - IMHO!

I blogged on 'em here: http://www.johnscrip.com/html/blog_f...d_mufflers.php

Probably need to update, as I now have no cat... Long story short, I have no regrets.

Bought them with the mid range baffles. I will be drilling them out as others have, just to get the sound I want.

Very happy with them..
