if you have the chance go and test ride a current model streetglide to help you make your decision. they sure do got the cool factor going on. they've been a huge sales success for harley. streetglides are great. i can't imagine trading mine off. once you get them set up the way you want it, you'll be very impressed. the stereo rocks, and they're just great bikes.
I tell you.... I just bought the 103 Street Glide after trading in my 96 Road King. I love my 103 and do not regret it. Especially since you get the ABS with it. And really.... the price difference isn't that much. But I suggest you go for the Black Denim instead. Just my opinion.... but I guess I am partial. :-)

i LOVE the black denim, but could not get the wife to go for it. so i went with the vivid black. i cant wait for the rain to quit so i can get it out. ill try and take some pics when i get home after work, hopefully it wont be raining long enough for me to snap a couple. thanks
Sounds like you enjoyed the first short ride...I went from a Victory Hammer to the SG and totally LOVE my bike. Between the wind protection, excellent bags and the radio - I couldn't go wrong. Cruise control is pretty sweet on the longer highway stretches too!
All in all it has been a great upgrade so far...you will probably need a better windscreen but that's easily remedied....good luck with the new scoot! Welcome to the "Touring" section of hdforums! There are some good folks in here too! Lol...
Go for it, it's not about age, it's about style. Once you get into the style of the bagger world, everything changes for the better. Like a Friday afternoon ride that doesn't bring you home till Sunday night! You won't believe the difference, not to mention the options. Just go for it! You know you want to......

I totally agree with you Mike about the wind screen. I have only had my bike a few days, but I already ordered the Klock Werks 6.5" due to the wind right at my face. Also, I see you got the orange bike. I ALMOST did the same. It was such a hard decision.
