Default Anyone have the Bassani Road Rage Series II?

http://www.bassani.com/new_products/24/

During my searches, I recall at least a couple people are running this.

It has 2" primaries, and it seems like it is meant for larger modified engines- not sure if it is the best for our bikes and the low end torque that touring bikes want.

I see Thunderheader also has a new X series pipe, but it looks like it also a larger diameter pipe for the bigger built engines.

I called Bassani inquiring about how well it would work on my CVO, and was told that since the 110" in stock form doesn't put out a whole lot of power for it's size, it is a border line recommendation for these big pipes. Having said that, he said the FLH 767 would work well on a 110".

I'm wondering how people think this would compare against the D&D Boss Fat Cat with the Q baffle- I realize D&D is a proven performer and traditionally has better fit and quality, but I do like the look of this Bassani, and if performance and quality were equal, I'd prefer it. The only negatives in my mind about the D&D is the different sound quality it has (the unique sound of it), and the fact that my Indy shop claims that the newer Fat Cat for the 2009 + doesn't perform as well as the older version.

Btw, I realize many of you have the original Road Rage, but I am interested in real world experiences with the new Series II, as it is a completely different pipe.

I have the RR II and love it but I have the FLH 777, I have a 103 power pak motor, stock heads and pistons, Cycle Rama 575 cams, Zippers Performance air cleaner and a race tuner, they look great, sound great , plenty of torque

They come with 21/2" baffles, but you can order 2" baffles part # b-22195799 Think I will run the smaller one.

From their website, it looks like the 767 has 2.25" baffles, and the 777 has 2.5" baffles.

Also, the 777 has shorter length baffles as it has an extended collector, so it would be louder for sure.

I'm still undecided which one would be best for my 110", but I'm leaning towards the 767, as that what Bassani recommended to me for a stock engine. Plus, although I'm not afraid of volume, I figure they will be a bit quieter than the 777 which is fine, and should be better for torque than the 777.

The only engine work I may do in the future would be some porting and cams, and I would think the 767 is plenty big enough to support that.

My bad they do come with 2.25 by 19 1/2 baffles, but you can get the 2" baffles. They have to make them about a 3 week wait.

I am currently running the original Road Rage (which I LOVE), but since I modded my motor, I will add this B2 version and a bigger throttle body towards the end of the year. Consider my "subscribed" to this thread...

Ya, I'm really infatuted with the looks and the sound of these....I really like the end caps (unique looking), and I actually like the bends in the header pipe- also unique and don't look like every other exhaust out there.

My only hesitation is that I have a good exhaust set up now (fullsac x pipe and fullsac 2.25" cores), and it runs cool enough, and runs very well. It dyno'd at 94 hp and 110 tq (not that it matters much since every dyno seems to put out different numbers).

Plus, I'd be giving up the ceramic coated header I have now- not sure how much extra heat I would feel with the Bassani.

But, I would like some more sound, and I hear with the 2-1 the power kind of spools up quicker, which is my only complaint about my bike now- it seems to take a second for the power to really come on- it doesn't hesitate, but it's kind of like turbo lag. I've been told that can be fixed by re-adjusting something on my TTS tuner, but I plan on getting a Vtune run, once I decide if I'm getting new pipes or not.

So, I'll keep thinking about it, and hopefully find out about peoples experience with them before I buy. I gotta wait about a month to come out with their fake left side pipe anyhow.

So, keep the reviews and opinions coming !!!
