$34.00 for a Primary Gasket..I hate to even walk in the dealership when I already know what I am in for..Been wrenching on my bikes since the early 70s but the cost of a gasket that aint nothing special? Thanks I some how feel a little better now...
I hear you! Had to replace "tower" gasket twice to get it to seal. 10 cents for two tower seals and almost 70 bucks for two freakin primary gaskets. Just couldn't bring myself to use the same one twice!

That's brought up question for my 2010 limited. According to the manual, I have to replace a new gasket when changing the primary lube, but then there is a rubber o-ring on the cover, so I don't have to replace anything.
I am nor sure that I've missed anything. Unless, you are talking about a different gasket.
Yeah I bought a new one when I did my clutch spring and VPC upgrade but after paying 35 bucks for it I was too pissed to use it, I re-used the old one. Nary a drop is present. I'll hang on to the new gasket till I really need it.

That's the derby cover o-ring not the primary cover gasket.
