I don't get it. Why is Cruise no longer available for the 2007 SG? Luckily I had mine installed when I bought the bike. If it was available then why not now?
The new bikes are all electronic, including the throttle.
They probably didn't see the need to continue to make the one for ones with throttle cables.
This thing is phenomenal and becomes second nature after a few times using it. The cruise-mate locks the throttle down and is perfect for strecthing your hand/arms, etc., but you can still panic turn the throttle off.
Inventory as of 03-27-11 shows Shumate HD in Kennewick, WA 509-735-9775 as having 77196-07. Give them a call and see
I called that dealer a few weeks ago -- apparently they have closed up shop. You can find the OEM 07 cruise kit overseas but you'll pay top dollar considering shipping, the currency exchange rate and the scarcity of the product. Occasionally a kit will show up on eBay but recently they have been fetching close to $800.
Another screwing by the company we remain loyal to. Why this isnt available for a 4 year old bike is beyond me. Obviously, people are looking to buy it. Good luck to anyone that needs replacement parts. They're not available either. Just checked today thinking I could buy the parts and put together my own kit. NOT!!
I started a thread about this same thing a few months ago. I however got lucky. guy did a search and gave me the link on here on how to use an 04 kit and change the molex connectors to make it work for my 07 sg. I printed the page off of this forum, gave it to the dealer I go to. They called like 25 different dealers and finally found one. I know they no longer make these kits, and finding one for the 04 was hard to do as well. There are lots of threads on this. Hope you find one.
Send me an e-mail @ wingsaseagles_101@***.net and I will tell you how to do it !!!
The Dealer said you CANT do it without the kit ....but I did and just finished today all the parts "ARE" available at the dealer the parts guys dont know what to look for.......My module was purchased on ebay from a dismantler !!!!,switch housing was a used take off from someone who installed chrome housings on his FLHTCU, cruise set/resume switch is HD part# 77101-98 button is part # 71825-96A, control module part # 70955-04, rocker switch is part #71513-98 (just about any year switch will work I found a different part # on e-bay for $12 bucks and it works fine Print the instruction sheet available on Google for a 77196-07 kit, there are other misc. parts you will need like the E clip to hold the stepper cable part # 11193, and some zip ties, eyou will also need a service manual with wiring diagrams (a parts manual hel;ps a lot too...it is not plug and play it requires a little work.
Your bike already has all the wiring in the Harness, as well as the sensor in the decel cable, so its a matter adding the correct switches and, matching up wires that are all color coded, you may have to install a clutch switch if so it is part # 71584-96A
The Service manual has a mistake in the wiring diagram they called out a red/blue wire and it is actually a red/yellow wire for the brake light switch

They have discontinued only the 07 cruise control. But, the only thing different on the 07 control from the 06 control is the electrical plug. I ordered the 06 unit and had my tech change the plug from the 06 type to the 07 style plug, (takes a special tool to get the plug off) and with the help of a service manual I installed it myself. fairly easy but you do need a manual to set the lash amoung other things. This is the only way you can add cruise to any 07 touring model that I found...
works as it should and I wouldn't be without it.
This is what I did. Dealer had an 07 take off plug and switched it out on the 06 kit.
