I just put the Kuryakyn Switch Housings on my 2011 FLHR. It is a pain in the butt & time consuming but you can do it your self. As long as you remember to put it back together in the order you took it apart. Also, the absolute best tool you can have to do this is a magnetic phillips head screw driver. Tiny screws & no space to work with. But if you have the screw driver, it's no big deal. I read that some guy thought the Kuryakyn's were cheap looking. I don't see that at all in mine. They are very, very nice. I would be willing to bet that if you took the Kurys & put them side by side with the Harleys, you couldn't pick out which is which. Now, it did take 1.5 hours to do the brake side. Mostly that time was trial & error. But once I figured it out, it only took about 15 minutes to do the clutch side. Keep a camera with you if you don't feel comfortable. Pictures are the best way to see what it's supposed to look like when it's finished.
Just did mine this weekend. I broke the first cover I went to put back on, went back to the dealer to buy another set and the tech pulled the one I broke out of his toolbox. Gave it to me for FREE. But it is a Pita but you can do it. Just take your time.
Not sure what bike you have, but the Ultra had alot of wires. In a word, "Tedious!". Not too much for anyone, just don't be in a hurry. Have plenty of beer and a wingman to help hold things together and help drink the beer.
thanks again guys for the input....the covers I'm speaking of are the switch caps....thats all I have right now....I have an FLHT with a radio and cruise....maybe with a case a beer a helper or two and staring at Bill03E's avitar for encouragment I can pull it off!
Don't let us discourage ya...we all did it and are still around to talk about it. Nice inexpensive upgrade.
