T27 isn't included in all bit sets, but it's easy enough to find one-even the cheapo HF sets--that has it if you remember to look for it. And if you still have problem getting the screw loose, one good smack using a hand impact tool will take care of it.
The T27 is the one i haven't skimped on...bought several good quality bits...almost 60k miles and i've done most of all my own services...Haven't stripped one yet...
I was one of those who used a T25 the first time. Swore up and down, threw things around the garage, the dog ran for her life.
Finally got a T27 and life got easier.
Most Torx sets don't come with a T27, so I can see where a mistake can be made.
+1 on the don't go cheap. I had a set of Lisle's that I chucked and bought a set of Craftsman.
I agree. Save yourself a lot of time and money by using the right Torx bit. If after doing so the first time, you are unable to remember that it is infact a T27 bit, write it down on the wall beside where you park you bike.
