Polished Standard Allen Head part # GW 10206 $1.75 each. Or Chrome Button Allen part# GW 13206 $1.50 each you do need Chrome Flat Washers part# GW 23203 $0.50 each. Problem Solved!!!!!

If your HD Shop doesn't have them go to your local fastener store and buy some. DON'T Go to Home Depot!
I'm not tired of trying to find my 27 Torx bit. I find it very quickly, it works well and I also use it for changing my windshield.

The correct size is 1/4-20X5/8 Torx Head. If you use the correct T-27 tool and torque in sequence to specs in manual, you will not have any problems with Torx Head bolts. I've never stripped one yet. JMO

McMaster-Carr has a box of 100 of those in stainless steel allen head for a few $. It fits other places on the bike too. Also, with a few strokes of metal polish you can make them appear chrome. Great source for high quality fasteners.
I also bought a pack of o-rings for the oil plugs. 100 pieces for the price of about 4 at the dealer and I bought the higher grade rubber. This forum has McM-C conversion numbers if you know how to search for them. (Heim joints too.)

So, tell me what's a good quality brand torx bit-just don't say Craftsman. I have some cheap ones and the last time I serviced the bike I stripped one and had to drill it out.

Thanks

I'll stick with the torx screws. My personal experience is that small screws with hex heads actually strip easier than torx head screws of the same size.

Want to spend bucks, get Snap-On. Why not say Craftsman? I've had Craftsman mechanics tool for years and they always held up. Besides, when you break them, Sears replaces them. BTW, the only things I ever broke were the ratchet drives, and I'm hard on my tools.
