call me old fashioned but i use a folding paper map. i did get a garmin 255w, but it was annoying as hell, so it sits in my shop collecting dust. i just got tired of the "bitch in the box" telling me i was going the wrong way. maps still work.

ive had several megellan tomtom but garmins have been the best

Garmin 550. It has been durable and weatherproof so that is a definate plus. I don't use the XM and Bluetooth. Software glith; some locations; oddly enough mostly HD Dealerships will be on the opposite side of the road than you are expecting them to be on.

just got the garmin 550 so far so good but the test will come when im in France for 8 days in June.

I use a Tom Tom Rider2, had it for about 2 years with no problems. Works fine, easy to use, but hard to see the screen in bright light.

I have had the Magellan 2200T for about 4 years. Its "water resistant" and has done well. Unfortunatly Magellen discontinued it and there are no additional map updates. Garmin will be next for the ease of downloading routes to the GPS

Navigon on my iphone with a ram mount. It works surprisingly well. I turn the display off and run the audio prompts to my helmet. It'll also do music that way.

If it rains, I'll put it in my jacket pocket under the rain-suit.
