Default Cam choice chart

I've been wanting to log this info and post it for a while now so here it is. I pulled the data from Jamie's comparison charts he posted and from other misc charts I found on other sites for 96"er's.

tw 555 - kick in at - 2300 - hp 96.21 / tq 101.27
tw 555 - kick in at - 2300 - hp 96.32 / tq 103.23
tw 555 - kick in at - 2400 - hp 96.32 / tq 103.23
tw 6 - kick in at - 2400 - hp 86.8 / tq 99.97
255 - kick in at -2500 - hp 78.18 / tq 98.19
255 - kick in at - 2600 - hp 86.8 / tq 99.97
204 - kick in at - 2750 - hp 81 / tq 99

The "kick in" point is where "I" see that they cam kick's in at ( starts the sharp rise ), others views may differ.
List was sorted by kick in point and TQ.

This finalizes my decision, I'm ordering the 555's today.

go with Cycle Rama 575, they turn similar results and are so much quieter than Woods cams

But those aren't the cool, now, magic cams that the 555's are, haven't you been reading all those dyno charts that say so?

Kind of a small sample size isn't it?

Why no Andrews or HQ posted? These are also very fine cams.

I'm curious about the Andrews myself.

Very happy with HQ 575 on the Ultra, the 555 tq curve looks similar. Not so hppy with the S&S 570 ES, they kick in too late but at speed, 3300 rpm they feel good, this could have more to do with the pipe on the Dyna, Bub 7 2-1.

I would assume they are from different bikes/dynos with the same cam installed.

Congrats on making decision! With all the cam threads/info out there that's the hard part! When can we expect to see the dyno sheet? LOL!!

whatever it takes to make you feel like you made the right choice.... it's pretty tough to go wrong with any of those cams, and a few that you didn't chart, in a stage 1 96.
